Local Roots
- Lifelong Ventura County resident.
- Grew up in a working class family: Father was a supermarket Pharmacist and Mother was a nurse at Kaiser Hospital.
Hard Work
- Worked to put himself through college. Former Member of the Retail Clerks Union.
- Earned his degree in Accounting and Finance at Cal State Northridge.
- Business Leader who works as the Financial Controller at Haas Automation—an Oxnard machine tool business that employs over 1,400 workers.
Community Service
- Founder and President of Moving Oxnard Forward, a local community organization dedicated to improving our city’s economy and quality of life.
- Financial Manager of the Gene Haas Foundation that donates millions of dollars to local charities, including: the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Oxnard & Port Hueneme; Food Share; Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Salvation Army, St. John’s Hospital and the El Centrito Family Learning Centers.
